Executive Director – Healthcare Specialty Group
 
We are conducting an exclusive, retained search for an Executive Director of a large specialty healthcare group.  For over 50 years, our client has been a rapidly growing Connecticut based premier anesthesia partnership. The organization is currently seeking a hands-on, entrepreneurial and results driven Executive Director to join their experienced management team. This prestigious position directly reports and works in conjunction with the President and Board of Directors.
 
Critical responsibilities of the Executive Director include:
  • Board of Director interactions:
    • Lead, support and guide the organization’s mission as defined by the Board of Directors.
    • Interact with the Board and provide all information necessary to make informed decisions.
  • Business Development, growth initiatives:
    • Seek out, negotiate and close business growth opportunities.
    • Establish new service relationships with surgical centers, healthcare systems, hospitals.
    • Identify business combination and investment opportunities.
    • Spearhead continued growth of top tier medical staff.
  • Financial Performance and viability:
    • Responsible for the fiscal integrity of annual budget and monthly financial statements.
    • Conduct Board reporting.
    • Provide financial leadership which includes operating within the budget, effectively using resources and maintaining controls and profitability.
    • Develop resources sufficient to ensure financial health.
  • Operations:
    • Oversee administration of all operations.
    • Hire, mentor and retain qualified staff.
  • Specific job responsibilities:
    • Plan and operate annual budget.
    • Establish policies and procedures for all personnel.
    • Collaborate with Division practice managers for day-to-day operations.
    • Review with Division practice managers personnel status and oversee evaluation of all administrative staff.
    • Serve as primary spokesperson to all facilities with periodic review of contracts.
    • Establish and maintain relationships with various organizations throughout the state.
    • Overall strategic planning with implementation of specific actions.
To succeed as the Executive Director, you will need:
  • Transparent and high integrity leadership combined with 5+ years of senior management experience.
  • History of success in growing and developing businesses.
  • Hands-on budget management skills including preparation, analysis, decision-making and reporting.
  • Strong organizational skills including planning, delegating and task facilitation.
  • Capacity to interface and engage with a diverse range of clinical and administrative personnel.
  • Ability to convey a vision of strategic future to staff and all contracted facilities.
